Final Adjustments to Gravity

As you could notice i have changed the subtitle from: 'New exclusive video' to 'New interview with Muse' where i used stroke effect and white and red colours scheme so it's match with the whole cover page and it's stand out. I was also advised to make the subtitle 'Shock! Paramore split' more stand out where as you can see, I used a stroke with the red colour, so it match with the red and yellow lines on the bottom and with other red line on the right side.
My final contents page looks a bit different as before as I was advised to put more information's about what's going to be there to make this page look more busy and important. I was also advised to make the middle person look a bit more stand out so I used a stroke and yellow colour again, as now you can tell he is the leader of T.R.B - The Rock Band.
In my final double spread page, i was advised to make the writing smaller and in the same size. I was also advised to make the text with a straight lines on the left side, to make the whole page look busy with a lot if details and information's in it. I also been told to put the page number on the right side of corner as it add to a whole page professional effect.

After having a consultations with my media teachers about how to improve and change my cover page, contents page and double spread page. I am very pleased with the whole design of 'Gravity' as it's different, original, creative, new and rocky.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I also used 'slideshare' to make a slideshows, as it is interesting way how to show my work and also to show a different type of media. However, it wasn't easy for me to use it as i have never used this software before so then i asked my media teachers and some friends who helped me how to use it. In my opinion, this is a brilliant software as it's quick, and now easy for me to use it.
First of all i created a blog account 'Blogger' to post all my ideas, activities planning as well as my final production and evaluation. However, because i did not have any knowledge about this blog account, i had some problems with: how to upload images or videos etc. But now, i have to say that it is really easy to use (when you get used to it as me now) and also it's got some really good features as for example: to change your blogger page, writing, the date, colours etc.

I have used this memory stick to transfer my photos, and videos i have done on apple macs to computer.
I have used this camera to take a majority of the photographs I used throughout the production.

I also briefly used Google for the evaluation when i needed a picture of Green Day to answer one of my evaluation questions.

I produced my media product by using Photoshop as it simple software and also because I have been using this software for a long time. For example: it allows me to manipulate an image, editing my photos on it. Photoshop supplies to users with a tool which it simpler to use. I have used Photoshop to produce creative, original, unique design, allowing me to experiment with the software and become more confidence when i will use it. By using different types of technology has allowed me to produce a magazine which is suitable to the target audience of my product.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

First of all i looked into different media institutions , and looking at variety of mainly rock magazines, that they published to help me find the right institution, that i would like to use to distribute my media product: 'Gravity'- the rock magazine. I feel that Bauer would be the best at distributing my product because I found out that:

  • IPC produce NME magazine and also distribute guitar magazine. However, they do not distribute many music magazines than Bauer and that's why i choose them instead of IPC. Also, they do not distribute any R&B or pop magazines.

  • Bauer's the most successful magazines are such as: Keerang! and Q. Also, Bauer publishes more magazines than any of different distributions. Other products that Bauer produce are radio stations such as: heat and kiss- which is a good way how to advertise my product throughout the radio station. I think that Kerrang! magazine have many similar codes and conventions with my magazines as you can see the similar style of fonts, rock band on the cover page, big MASTHEAD etc.

  • Bauer has over 80 influential media brands and reaches over 19 million of people.

Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what have you learnt in the progression from it to full product?

As you can see, my knowledge of using 'Photoshop' to produce my magazines (school & rock ) has improved.
For example:
The rock magazine- I know now have to used different type's of fonts to make it stand out, and also to make it look more professional - by using drop shadows, stroke, colour overlay, inner shadow. An example of this would be the MASTHEAD on cover page: 'Gravity' where I have used all these elements. In addition to this I have learnt how to drop shadow on the yellow puff says: 'WIN! new rock bracelets ' where as you can see the black shadow- so it gives to magazine 3- D appearance. Also, my cover page has increased considerably because , I have learnt how to use layers in 'Photoshop' more effectively.

As you can see my understanding of the software has improved as well as I have produced a professional looking magazine by using 'Photoshop'.

Throughout this project, I have learnt a lot of useful information about how to produce a professional magazine, how to make the fonts to stand out, how to use different types of colours and combine them, how to drop shadow on the pictures.

What elements would you like to used in your school magazine, that you have used in your rock magazine?

School magazines- I would definitely used some techniques that 'Photoshop' offers me such as: shadow drop to make it look better, combine and play with the colours, used better and different fonts etc.
